Pics - Local Harvest Beer Dinner 8.14.11

Sunday night's Brewmaster's Dinner at Beer Kitchen was a vegetarian feast featuring produce exclusively from local farms paired with rare and limited beers from McCoy's.  The food courses were fresh and delicious and the beers were cold and refreshing - perfect for the remarkably warm summer we've been experiencing.  Huge thanks to those of you who came out, but for those that didn't, here's what you missed:

Family Farms raw bar featuring purple peppers, Patty Pan squash, yellow wax beans, Kirby cucumbers, house pickled yellow beets & heirloom tomatoes served with Cerveza de Verano - a beer cocktail of McCoy's Cerveza with lime-mint infused vodka

Dan from Ms. Fit Ranch discussed the spinach dip & arugula  harvested from their farms near Liberty, MO

Savory avocado sorbet with chipotle-grilled Montauk corn and blue corn tortillas served with McCoy's first ever Pineapple-Cilantro lager

Candy onion, Prairie Tomme & cauliflower tart with Ms. Fit Ranch arugula, Malabar spinach, golden beets, goat cheese  and yellow Sundrop cherry tomatoes with McCoy's & Gordon-Biersch collaboration Sticke Altbier

Red curry squash and roasted poblano fritter with spicy heirloom tomato chutney & yogurt drizzle served with McCoy's Horizon single-hop Double IPA brewed with 50lbs. of local honey

Warm sorghum spice cake with Shatto Dairy chocolate milk gelato , almond butter fudge truffle, & Missouri pecan-granola cookie paired with McCoy's 2010 Ursa Major Imperial Stout

Guests were treated to a sample of Kansas City's newest artisanal confectioner - Oishii Sweets.  We got to try the Chocolate-Oatmeal Stout caramel made with McCoy's own Oatmeal Stout.  Delicious!
Tickets are on sale now for next month's dinner on September 18th which features 5 beers that won a gold, silver or bronze medal at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival. More information on that dinner as it becomes available or call Beer Kitchen at 816.389.4180 to reserve your seats.  Cheers!
